Change the SAP GUI Logon Language

Print Friendly

We recently did an upgrade of our SAP LOGON into Version 730.

Suddenly my default logon language was no longer EN, but NL instead. Although I am Dutch speaking I usually work in English while doing customizing and other stuff, so rather annoying.

I quickly checked what influences the logon language and found following aspects:

1) System Parameter zcsa/system_language which can be checked using transaction code RZ11

This was set to default E (English). So this was not the problem.

RZ11 - zcsa System Language

RZ11 - zcsa System Language details

2) I also checked my logon language in my User Master Record via transaction code SU3. This was set to NL, and I changed it into EN.

I still had default logon language set to NL when logging on again.

SU3 logon Language

3) I also checked and changed the logon language in my SAP Logon Option settings into EN:

Saplogon Options

Saplogon Language settings

After having made this change, my default logon language was set back to EN.

Thanks so much! I've been looking in all the places to change the logon language and it seemed to me I have found them all.
Apparently I didn't. Now I finally changed it.

Have a good day!

Thanks for these details, it helped me too as we were unable to logon in FR ( whereas it was possible to logon on using EN)

thanks Davy, after doing your 3rd point, I could change the language into my desired language - English. I think SAP should change that icon into a meaningful text, otherwise how on earth I supposed to know that under that icon existing some more options.

Please help on my below mentioned query.

In T-Code SE41, I was copying the status of a standard program TERM_TBX_EXPORT and for the first time system asked to choose between Logon language and Original language. And I selected the Original language but now I want it to be logon language. But whenever I am trying to do something in the same program, system prompts for Original language (DE). Please help how I can change my option and proceed further with Logon Language (EN).
