URL and Parameters to launch the SAP CRM WEB UI

In CRM the WebUI is a web based user interface. It runs in a browser. To start the WebUI we need a URL. Next to starting the 'standard' URL, we can use additional parameters to navigate directly to more specific details.

You can start using the WebUI with the ‘standard’ start URL, like


After you logged on, you navigate to the function you need. However, it is possible to start the WebUI by adding parameters at the end of the URL and directly select or navigate to a function.

Find back relevant SAP CRM Employee data using multiple approaches

In SAP CRM you normally create each end-user as an employee in the system.

Technically this means you will create the employee as a Business Partner in the system and map this business partner with the relevant User ID.

  • In the SAP GUI, you would create such an employee using the transaction code BP, where you would create a “Person” in the BP role BUP003 (employee). The mapping with the user ID can then be done on the tab page “identification”, assuming you have selected the BP role Employee to display.
  • In the SAP CRM WEBUI this process is simpler in that sense that you no longer need to manually choose the BP role “BUP003 employee” but rather use the navigation link “Create Employee” which can be found on the work center page “Account Management”. Continue reading »

Finding Tables and Fields within SAP CRM

Finding tables can be very frustrating and time consuming, especially within SAP CRM where all programming is object oriented. Finding tables has become more important when off-shoring was introduced. Functional specifications have to be at a very high quality level. During my working time I have collected some tips & tricks how to speed up this process.

In this article I will try to explain a bit more about SAP CRM Marketing attributes and how this data is setup, as well as which tables are technically used behind the scene to store this type of data.
